IRATION: I started playing music in the school orchestra but it was later in high school that I started getting really passionate about reggae music. The whole band is from Hawaii and reggae music is really predominant out there.
IRATION: Our sound is strongly influenced by a group called Black Uhuru. They were a generation of musicians after Bob Marley that integrated rock n roll with traditional roots reggae and we really aspire to play like them. In business we look to bands like The Expendables and Pepper who have given us a good model to pave our way in the music industry.
IRATION: We're wrapping up our Fresh Grounds spring tour. We've had a bunch of sold-out shows on the final leg and the energy has been great so we're really stoked.
IRATION: We're different in that we bring a more modern sound to traditional reggae music. We like to infuse elements of rock and pop to our reggae foundation, and to bring a good vibe to our fans.
IRATION: We're off for most of the summer to record for our next release. We'll be playing some select festivals like Lollapalooza and Wakarusa but we're really looking forward to, writing and getting back in the studio. Plus California summers are pretty good too!
